Meet the Cast


LIZ CLOUD
received an After Dark Award and a Joseph Jefferson citation nomination for her performance of Charlotte Bronte in the Free Associate's production of the one-woman show Bronte. She is currently performing in full habit as Sister in the one-woman (or more correctly one-nun) show Late Nite Catechism and as Laura Bush in Whose West Wing is it Anyway?! A founding member of The Free Associates, she performed in many of their productions including the original production of Cast on a Hot Tin Roof and BS. Recent credits include Flanagan's Wake and Mirandolina, both with the Noble Fool Theater. Her face and hands have been featured in commercials for McDonalds, Budweiser, Parkay Margarine and many others. Film credits include The Opera Lover and How U Like Me Now.

RANDY G. CRAIG has appeared as Sheriff Marty Holt in the horror film "Carnivore" (www.carnivoremovie.com) and on Chicago stages as in Damage Control at the Noble Fool, the Mayor in The Government Inspector, Bruce in Beyond Therapy, Rev. Toop in See How They Run, Major Powell in Corpse!, with the country's first 2 act completely improvised Broadway style musical, MUSICAL! the musical(www.musicalthemusical.com), with the long form improv troupe The Free Associates in Cast on a Hot Tin Roof, BS, Blithering Heights, The Greatest Story Never Told, The Real Darren Stephens, toured nationally with Call To Action and Novel Ideas Children's Theatre, and has as assisted in the development of, as well as cast, written, and performed all across the country , in the Virtual Reality Theatre for Ham On Rye Technologies. Randy also is an accomplished guitarist, songwriter, performing with the band Mosaic (www.beyondmeproductions.com), and has occasionally acted as Musical Director for MUSICAL! the musical. He is a graduate from The Second City Training Center, Players Workshop (where he also taught), and has a BA in Music Theory from Trinity College (Trinity International University). In addition to seeing him from time to time in various commercials and industrial films he also plays "Shoulders", a gangster guide in Chicago's Untouchable Tours. (www.gangstertour.com)

ERIN ELLIOTT (Stage Manager) is happy to be a part of such a talented group of people! Erin first took part in Cast on a Hot Tin Roof last year at the Noble Fool Theatre Company. She is currently working for Artsmarketing Services at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and is pursuing a second B.A. in Television Writing and Producing at Columbia College Chicago.

JESSE GROTHOLSON has been seen in Chicago in Flanagan’s Wake, Chicago Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar and Kabuki Lady MacBeth, and both the Noble Fool and the Royal George productions of Cast on a Hot Tin Roof. Other Roles include Nicola in Arms and the Man, Uncle Louie in Lost in Younkers, and Boris Simeonov-Pishchik in The Cherry Orchard. He is a recent graduate of the Chicago College Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Jesse thanks everyone who makes life possible: his wife, his family, and Jesus.

MARY FAHEY HUGHES
is thrilled to be directing and appearing in this Vicki Quade production of Cast on a Hot Tin Roof.  Mary appeared with The Free Associates in previous productions of Cast on a Hot Tin Roof in Chicago, New Orleans and Toronto.  She also appeared with The Free Associates in As We Like It: Shakespeare in Your Face, Blithering Heights, B.S., The Greatest Story Never Told and Pick-a-Dick.  She was a member of The Noble Fool Theater Company and appeared in Flanagan’s Wake, The Baritones, Sex in the Suburbs and Roasting Chestnuts.  She also appeared in Sive and The Patrick Pearse Motel with the Irish American Heritage Center and The Importance of Being Ernest with The Irish Theater Guild.  Mary has a B.A. in Theater from Southern Illinois University and has taught improvisation and theater workshops with The Noble Fool, The Second City Training Center, The Free Associates and The Art Institute of Chicago’s Young Artists Studios.  Mary would like to thank Jerry, Aidan and Kateri for their abounding love.

A graduate of Western Michigan University, VINCENT KRACHT began his career in the Detroit area, culminating in his critically-acclaimed portrayal of John Merrick in The Elephant Man.  He has performed as a professional actor and improviser throughout the US.  Vincent toured the country as the solo actor/writer for the NEA-funded educational theatre,   The MadHatters.  In Chicago, his varied experience has included work with ComedySportz, The Bailiwick Theatre, The Free Associates, and About Face Theatre.  He has portrayed Father Gilby in Late Nite Catechism and Carl in Mr. Nanny, both by Vicki Quade.  He recently portrayed Yvan in the Bohemian Theatre Ensemble production of ART.  He currently works for the Chicago production of Late Nite Catechism and the completely improvised play, Cast on a Hot Tin Roof, of which he was an original company member when the show was conceived by The Free Associates thirteen years ago.

JENNI LAMB is pleased to be a part of the talented cast of Cast on a Hot Tin Roof. Jenni has also worked with The Free Associates, Noble Fool, Strawdog, Redmoon, and Historical Perspectives for Children. Her favorite roles include Lee Ann in A Piece of My Heart and Dr. Mary Seaver in B.S. She is also part of the cast of Corporation, Inc., which will be part of the Chicago Improv Festival this year. She would like to thank Josh for his love and support.

MARY OLIVIERI has been seen running amuck in theaters all over the East Coast and Chicago for the last 22 years – most recently in Brouhaha! at Bailiwick and Mock the Vote! at The Theater Building in Chicago. With Noble Fool - Molly Wells/Peggy Carlton in Damage Control, Scary in Sex in the Suburbs, Tina and Janice in The Baritones and Marion in the St. Charles remount of Don’t Drink the Water. With The Free Associates – As We Like It, BS, Scryptogram and many more at the Ivanhoe and Royal George theaters. Favorite east coast credits include A…My Name Is Alice, Hair and God with Performance Studio in New Haven, and an improv stint at The Knitting Factory-NYC. Mary holds a BA in one hand and her sweet 8-year old boy in the other.

VICKI QUADE (producer) is the co-creator and producer of the long-running hit Late Nite Catechism. She wrote and produced the comedy, Mr. Nanny, and the bluegrass musical, Here Come the Famous Brothers, wrote the tribute book, “I Remember Bob Collins” (Bannon Multimedia Group, 2000), and has produced shows for paranormalist Christopher Carter at several major Chicago venues. She is currently also producing the hit reality play, Verbatim Verboten, also at the Royal George and opened Verbatim Verboten in New York, where it has become a cult off-off-Broadway event. This summer, she will produce the U.S. premiere of the play, Drapes, by Australian playwright Stephen House, at Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago. She is also one of the owners of Naperville's Crossroads Theater, which opened in 2002.

ANNIE RUBINO is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory and the ImprovOlympic, where she can be seen on a regular basis with The State of Delaware. In addition to sketch and improv, she trained in Meisner technique at Act One, studying with Kat Hart, Diane Dorsey, and Syd Moore. Theatrical work includes OFF with Experimental Theatre Chicago (Stage Left), the upcoming BIG LOVE, also with ETC (Chopin Theatre), and the upcoming ALL MY SONS, in association with The Oak Park Shakespeare Festival. Fans of The History Channel will recognize her from CONSPIRACY? Annie was a part of The Noble Fool run of CAST ON A HOT TIN ROOF and is still thrilled to throw on a slip and a pair of heels and drawl away.

LYNDA SHADRAKE returns to Cast on a Hot Tin Roof, having appeared in the original production in Chicago and in New Orleans at the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival and most recently at the Noble Fool Theater. You may also be able to catch Lynda in Late Nite Catechism where she has been playing Sister for the last five years. Other Noble Fool credits include Don’t Drink the Water, Flanagan’s Wake (Chicago and Los Angeles productions), Roasting Chestnuts, The Baritones, Sex in the Suburbs, and the Psychic Café. A founder of the Free Associates, she appeared in As We Like It: Shakespeare in Your Face, Blithering Heights, B.S., and Pick-a-Dick as well as Cast on a Hot Tin Roof. Lynda is a Second City Training Center graduate and has improvised all over Chicago for years with ComedySportz, The Improv Institute, Zeitgeist Theater, and improv sets at the Chicago Improv Festival, Improv Olympic's Cage Match, Improv 'til Dawn and the Playground. Film credits include the independent film Dancing with Ernesto, screened at the Ashland Film Festival in Oregon, and several industrial films where you can see her repairing refrigerators or mopping a convenience store floor. Ah, the glamorous life!

DAVID SHERMAN has been performing publicly and privately for most of his tender 29 years.  His musical comedy career began at the kitchen table of his youth and has now brought him to beautiful Chicago.  In between he has performed with various repertory theater groups and travelling medicine shows.  While roaming the earth with a goddess–worshipping-hedonistic-end-times-love-cult and mambo band, David passed through Chicago and decided to set up camp.  Since then he has enjoyed becoming a part of Chicago’s amazing improv community.  He can also be found singing swing on Thursdays at The Green Mill and Latin lounge on Wednesdays at The Raw Bar.  David is a Libra and is thrilled to be a part of Cast on a Hot Tin Roof.

DARREN STEPHENS is happy to be appearing again in Cast On A Hot Tin Roof. Has it really been more than ten years since the last time? In addition to Cast, Darren appeared with The Free Associates in Pick-A-Dick, BS, The Hollywood Squares Not, and the improvised talk show The Real Darren Stephens. Other improv credits include the original cast of Musical – The Musical and Flanagan’s Wake with the Noble Fool Theater Company. Also with Noble Fool he appeared in Vikings – A Musical In Two Acts, and their Christmas show Roasting Chestnuts. Darren’s done a ton of harmony singing in Chicago in the groups Relative Obscurity, The Four Guys Standing Around Singing, and with his current group, The Famous Brothers, with whom he performed the musical Here Come The Famous Brothers right here at the Royal George. Darren has an MFA in Acting from Ohio University, which is in the far southeastern corner of the state, near Georgia.
